Council Committee approves renaming Cincinnati Street after Todd Portune

( Cincinnati, Oh ) - Cincinnati City Council's Neighborhood Committee is recommending changing the name of a city street to honor Todd Portune. The longtime Hamilton County Commissioner had to retire at the end of last year due to health reasons.

A proposal is on the table to rename a section of East Court Street, between Main and Walnut, Todd Portune Way. Councilwoman Amy Murray was among those to approve the name change.

"He's such a statesman and works across the aisle... works tirelessly on things that really matter to him and to the city and to the county. This is a great honor for Todd and all his years of service to the community."

The full City Council will vote this week and is expected to approve the change unanimously.
