Clermont County Man Pleaded Guilty to Murdering His Wife

(Batavia, OH) - 55-year-old, James M. Hayes shot and killed his wife, Jeanette Hayes on October 23, 2019. On October 22nd, Jeanette told James that they were through. The next day, he ingested meth and drove his motorcycle over to her home on Spotswood Common, and had every intention of killing her.

Police say they were called to Spotswood Common after hearing several gunshots in the area. James fired shots at her through the glass door in the back of the home. He shot her twice...once in the neck, and in the shoulder.

James confessed to killing Jeanette and was sentenced fifteen years to life for murder, consecutive to eight years for improperly discharging a firearm.
