Man Who Claimed To Be Missing Boy Pleads Guilty

(Cincinnati) - The man who claimed to be a missing six-year-old boy from Illinois when he was picked up by police last spring in Newport has pleaded guilty to federal aggravated identity charges.

Brian Rini was accused of telling police he was missing boy Timmothy Pitzen, after they found him wandering the streets in Newport, Kentucky on April 3rd.

He's been sentenced to two-years in prison and will receive credit for time served. He will be on probation for a year once released.

Last year Rini told officers he recently escaped from a hotel room and they where two men were holding him captive. After a series of DNA tests officials learned Rini was a known felon, who'd been released from an Ohio prison last March.
