Deters Announces Special Prosecutor for City Council's 'Gang of Five' Case

( Cincinnati ) - A special prosecutor will handle the investigation into five members of Cincinnati City Council for their violations of Ohio's open meetings law.

The Ohio Auditor says Ttamaya Dennard, Greg landsman, Chris Seelbach, PG Sittenfeld, and Wendell Young (all pictured above) violated the Ohio revised code, and he wants prosecution considered. It involves the group texting each other about official city business.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters says local lawyer Patrick J Hanley will be the special prosecutor to decide if the case should be presented to a grand jury to charge the council members with the crime of dereliction of duty. Deters says other counts could be added.
