( Ohio River ) - The Coast Guard has concluded its investigation that was launched after the Dale Artigue barge crashed into the Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club on October 2.
Investigators say the Mate on-watch fell asleep while at the controls, causing the crash that destroyed the bar, restaurant, and marina along the banks of the Ohio River. There were two deckhands on-watch at the time, but the Coast Guard says neither of them were assigned navigation watch duties. The mate who fell asleep will be subject to disciplinary action, though the Coast Guard did not provide any specific details.
LBYC owners have said they will rebuild.
