A Plea Deal in Pike County for a Wagner Grandmother

( Pike County ) - The mother of one of the people charged in the murders of eight members of the Rhoden family in Pike County pleaded guilty on Monday to charges related to that mass murder investigation.

66-Year-Old Rita Newcomb admitted to a misdemeanor count of obstructing official business. Prosecutors, in exchange, agreed to drop felony counts of forgery, perjury, and more.

Newcomb's charges involved child custody documents from a family battle that investigators say was at the heart of the 2016 Rhoden family killings. Newcomb’s adult daughter, Angela Wagner, along with her son-in-law and two adult grandsons are charged with aggravated murder and more. They've pleaded not guilty.
