This message was posted to the Northwest School District Facebook page this morning: "In light of recent events, the Northwest Local School District will be canceling school on Tuesday, November 26, for all students so that we may further educate our district staff on safety procedures and provide additional security updates. We apologize for any inconvenience."
The action was taken in light of the murder last week that occurred as classes were letting out at Northwest High School. One student was shot and another is charged with murder after a fight that started at school continued near campus after classes were dismissed. Each of the students involved called someone else to join them for the fight and one of those men ended up dead. Police say the dispute was about someone's sister.
