The Cincinnati Ballet is Moving out of the West End

A key piece of property in the West End that could be used for a new parking garage for FC Cincinnati's soccer stadium is opening up. The Cincinnati Ballet has announced that it will leave its' location across from Music Hall and build a brand new center for dance in Walnut Hills.

The 30 million dollar facility will be built on land that is now vacant along Gilbert Avenue close to the Baldwin Building. The new ballet headquarters will be much larger than the current location and will include more space for its dance academy that experienced record setting growth in recent years. The new Cincinnati Ballet Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance is scheduled to open in the Summer of 2021.

Here is what the President and CEO of the Ballet is saying about the announcement:

“The Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance will dramatically expand Cincinnati Ballet’s mission to enrich, expand, and excel in the art of dance through performance, a high-caliber academy, and impactful education and community engagement programs. Cincinnati Ballet has expanded its professional mainstage productions and experienced record-setting growth in enrollment at our Otto M. Budig Academy over the last few years. In fact, we cannot accommodate demand due to full classes. Quite simply, the organization has outgrown its current space. The new ballet center will be an integral arts destination for the community and the region.”
