( Cincinnati ) - UC Health calls it the largest construction project in its history.
A video announcement on Tuesday is touting a $221 million plan to renovate, upgrade, and expand a variety of departments on the UC Health campus in Clifton that includes UC Medical Center.
The money will go toward expanding and renovating UC's Emergency Department, adding more rooms to the operating area, building new parking garages, and more.
"I applaud UC Health for continuing to invest in the development and growth of the Uptown area," said Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley in a statement released by UC Health.
An architectural firm is expected to be chosen by the end of 2019, and people should start noticing changes around the 14-acre, 17-building campus in 2020.
