( Fairfield ) - No major injuries after two trains collided Tuesday morning. It happened on the Norfolk Southern tracks near the intersection of North Gilmore and Bobmeyer.
Multiple cars derailed, and two of them were transporting butane. Hazmat crews were called to the scene, but no evacuations were ordered. However, a statement from Fairfield City Schools says the fire department recommended the district put schools close to the crash on a delay. The district says it can't pick and choose which schools are delayed, so the entire district started class two hours later than usual.
We're waiting on details from transportation officials about the circumstances of the crash.
