One of the first things that Brooke Skylar Richardson asked Lt. John Fain was "am I in trouble?"
The Warren County jury which will decide the fate of the young mother accused of killing her baby watched a videotaped interview made by police with Richardson on July 14, 2017. It was the first conversation they had with the then 18 year old about the death of her child two months earlier.
The new mom told Fain that she didn't know what to do when the baby came out and ended up delivering on the toilet. Richardson said the baby wasn't breathing and didn't have a heartbeat. The entire interview lasted over 2 hours with Richardson appearing confused, asking often "what is going on?" She told police she did not kill her baby which was a little girl. She did admit to burying the body in the back yard to try and keep her secret.
