( Covington, Kentucky ) - A teen is in custody after he allegedly stole a van that had a young child inside.
Police were called to Indiana Ave just off Madison on Thursday afternoon on reports of a vehicle stolen that had a 22-month-old inside. Police later found that vehicle with the young child still inside on Ashland Ave in Latonia Terrace.
After talking with witnesses, police found 2 teens matching the description of the suspects. One of the suspects, a 13-year-old, allegedly had the victim's cell phone in his pocket. He's charged with kidnapping, theft by taking, and receiving stolen property. The other teen, a 14-year-old, was not charged.
