Prosecutor: Sharonville Officer Cleared in Hotel Shooting

( Sharonville, Ohio ) - The Hamilton County Prosecutor says the officer who shot a suspect in a hotel early Tuesday morning has been cleared.

In a statement on Wednesday, Joe Deters says Officer Sean Grogan's actions were justified. He shot Duane Harrison three times in a hallway of the Sonesta Suites, and Deters says that only happened after Harrison fired one shot first. Harrison is in stable condition at UC Medical Center. He's facing multiple charges including attempted murder of a police officer.

Officer Grogan was not injured. Both the prosecutor and Hamilton County Sheriff's office investigated the case.

Deters says "the police prevented what could have been a much different situation with potential harm to many innocent people."
