Pike County Sheriff Pleads Not Guilty To Charges

Charles Reader

(Pike County) - Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader pleaded not guilty to all 16 counts against him today.

Reader is accused of corruption for allegedly using drug bust money and loans to fuel his gambling habit. Ohio's State Auditor started investigating Reader late last year. Now Attorney General Dave Yost says he wants Reader pulled out of office.

Reader has been released on his own recognizance, but a judge told him he had to turn in the keys to the court house.

No word on how the charges against Reader will play into the prosecution of those accused in the Pike County massacre.
