(Hamilton County, OH) - An overdose alert has been issued in Hamilton County after a spike in drug runs.

The Hamilton County Heroin Coalition says first responders made 54 runs from Friday morning to Monday morning.

Calls started coming in Saturday after crews responded to 23 suspected overdoses in a 24-hour period. On Sunday they responded to 18 calls and then to 13 more calls from Sunday into Monday morning.

Ten people have died in five days due to the drugs. Officials say they think fentanyl is to blame and that overdoses have been reported from West Price Hill to Newtown.
