A Cincinnati teen the latest victim in a spike of gun violence in the city.

Through the first five months of the year in Cincinnati there were fourteen homicides now there are already ten in the month of June alone. The latest homicide occurred early Wednesday morning in South Fairmount. Police say 18 year old Ramerise Abernathy was gunned down on Hansford Place. No other details are being released about the murder which remains under investigation.

Cincinnati Police say they have no explanation for the spike in gun violence except that it always seems to rise as the temperature warms up. For the year, the number of homicides are down from last years levels.
