( Cincinnati, OH ) - Flags at Cincinnati city buildings are flying at half-staff today to honor an employee who was killed on the job Monday.
Leroy Garrison, Jr. suffered a fatal electric shock yesterday while working on power lines along Hawaiian Terrace. Garrison was an electrical maintenance employee in the Department of Public Services, according to the city manager's office. He was working alone.
First responders were called to the Mount Airy apartment complex by 911 callers, according to Captain David Fink from Cincinnati Police. Firefighters called Duke Energy to shut off the power after they arrived to find "active wires covering the bucket" of a City Public Service truck.
Garrison was found inside and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the fire department.
His death is being investigated and until that is complete, all non-emergency electrical maintenance work has been suspended.
