( Cincinnati ) - This September, visitors to the Museum Center will be transported to the moon.
Both Carol and Mark Armstrong, Neil Armstrong's wife and one of his sons, were at Union Terminal for the announcement that Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission, a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian, will open at Cincinnati Museum Center on September 28.
In a statement, Destination Moon features the only part of the Apollo 11 space craft to return to Earth: the command module Columbia. The exhibit will feature more than 20 original Apollo 11-flown objects, models, and videos. Destination Moon is the first time that the Columbia command module has left the National Air and Space Museum since it opened in 1976.
Tickets for Destination Moon go on sale July 20 at this website.
