( Wilder, KY ) - A Wilder City Council member was killed Saturday morning in a single motorcycle accident.
It happened at the intersection of North Street and Elm Street around 4am.
Police pronounced Robert Honaker dead at the scene.
"Honaker is a well-known resident whom has been very active with the city," Wilder Police Sgt. Jules Comte said in a statement.
"He started his public service as a volunteer fireman and rose to the rank of assistant chief of the volunteer Wilder Fire Department."
Honaker was in his third term on the City Council.
The accident remains under investigation.
