Cincinnati City Council Holds 2nd Reading, No Vote, on Marijuana Ordinance

Cincinnati City Council on Wednesday had the second reading of an ordinance that would decriminalize marijuana up to 100 grams, but for the second-straight meeting, no vote was held.

Councilwoman Tamaya Dennard was not present at Wednesday's meeting.

Last week, the first reading of the ordinance was done, but council did not have the required number of votes to suspend the required three readings and hold a vote. Seven of the nine members of council have expressed support for the ordinance.

A vote could come after the third reading at next week's meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 30.

There is an additional ordinance that would allow up to 200 grams, which caused Wednesday's vote to be delayed again.
