It is being called the Art Climb.
The Cincinnati Art Museum says it will be building a Grand staircase that will be the new entry way to the Eden Park museum and better connect it to the neighborhood below. The climb will start at Eden Park Drive and Gilbert Avenue and rise 450 feet up the hill to the museums parking lot. The 5 million dollar project will include multiple flights of steps and landings and a pavilion at the top where visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the city. The project is being funded by a New Markets Tax Credit from the federal government that is designed to encourage investments in low income neighborhoods like Walnut Hills. Construction will start in June.
