Deadly Crash Kills Elderly Man

(Middletown, OH) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash that occurred on March 30, 2019 at 8:20 a.m. on Dixie Highway at Manchester Road in the City of Middletown.

A preliminary investigation revealed a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville, operated by Ladarius V. Hawkins, age 28, of Middletown, Ohio was northbound on Dixie Highway. A 2009 Honda CRV, operated by Roger Lohman, age 78, of Middletown, Ohio was westbound on Manchester Road. The 2004 Pontiac Bonneville failed to yield to a red light and struck the 2009 Honda CRV. The 2009 Honda CRV drove off the right side of road and struck a ditch. The 2004 Pontiac Bonneville came to rest in the roadway.

Ladarius V. Hawkins, the driver of the 2004 Pontiac Bonneville was wearing a seatbelt and not injured in the crash.

Roger Lohman, the driver of the 2009 Honda CRV was wearing a seat belt and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Norma Lohman, the front passenger of the 2009 Honda CRV was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
