They were apparently trying to join the 1/35th mile high club. Police have arrested a man from Florence and a woman from North College Hill who they say were engaging in sex on the 150 foot observation wheel at the Banks. The police complaint says that 30 year old Michael Mathisen and 31 year old Lauren Wilder were drunk when they had sex out in the open in full view of children and adults. The disturbance happened about 6 o clock in the evening after the all day block party in the Banks to celebrate Opening Day of the baseball season.
