Run 4 Kids 5K walk/run

Run 4 Kids has a new name and a new location!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County’s Run 4 Kids 5K walk/run has been renamed as League of Defenders: Run 4 Kids. The event also has a new location this year. You will find us at Bridgewater Falls in Fairfield Township on Sunday, April 14.

Run 4 Kids features a chip-timed 5K walk/run. Walkers may choose to participate in the scavenger hunt during the walk. There will also be food, beverages and prizes for fastest run times in adult, teen and child categories as well as for the team with the most members and for the team that raises the most money.

To add to the fun this year’s event will feature a unique scavenger hunt that will take place along the walking/running route. The purpose of the scavenger hunt is to help Big Brothers Big Sisters catch notorious villain, The Extinguisher, who has stolen all the awards for Run 4 Kids! With the participants’ help, we can find the clues The Extinguisher has left behind so we can discover his henchman’s identity and get him to return the awards.

Register/Donate

Online registration is now open at https://amplify.netdonor.net/8841/defenders. Early bird registration fees of $25 are available through Saturday, April 7.  After April 7, registration fees will be $35.

This year our goal is to raise $75,000 at Run 4 Kids. All proceeds will be used to find, screen, train, match, and supervise new volunteer mentors for some of the 152 Butler County children who are currently waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister. You can help defend the potential of local children when you register, donate or join a team.

League of Defenders Theme

Run 4 Kids will again be superhero themed. Dress as your favorite defender from books, films, or comics.  Our mentors and donors are our favorite defenders. By volunteering to spend time with a child and develop a friendship that will change that child’s life or by providing financial support to make those relationships possible, they are igniting the potential of Butler County children and youth. We hope to see hundreds of new defenders at League of Defenders: Run 4 Kids!
