Firefighter Rescued During East Price Hill Fire

Crews responded to a three-alarm fire in the 2900 block of Glenway Avenue Wednesday morning.

The building, unoccupied and used mainly for storage, provided some challenges for firefighters as they had trouble accessing some areas due to debris and its deteriorating conditions.

The fire was brought under control from the inside within 30 minutes, but in that time, a Mayday was declared as one firefighter fell through the first floor and into the basement. He was quickly rescued and was uninjured.

Crews found a deceased dog inside and another was rescued from the fire.

Due to the fire damage and the prior condition of the structure, it is set to be torn down.

An investigation into the cause is underway.
