Cranley To Introduce Legislation Requiring Bias Training

Mayor John Cranley

(Cincinnati) - Mayor John Cranley will introduce legislation at next week's City Council meeting that will require all city employees to go through bias training.

He announced his plans at a press conference Friday morning.  The plan comes after body camera video of two Cincinnati Police officers using a racial slur was released.

Officer Donte Hill was recorded using the word while responding to a dispute in September.  Officer Dennis Barnette used the word arresting a woman at a Roselawn night club last month.

Cranley says both officers are facing 40 hours of docked pay and sensitivity training. If they repeat the offense they could be terminated.
