Jury Deliberating Doug Evans Case

( Cincinnati ) - After roughly four weeks of trial, federal prosecutors and defense attorneys presented their closing arguments on Monday, and now the case against Evans Landscaping, owner Doug Evans, and VP Jim Bailey is now in the hands of a jury.

The defendants are accused of fraud and conspiracy for allegedly creating a shell company to win government contracts that were specifically designed for minority business owners. Evans says he was just trying to help a friend start his own business.

If Evans and Bailey are convicted of the six charges against them, they each face up to 103 years in prison. Evans Landscaping would also be fined more than a million dollars.
