UPDATE: Mother Contacts Sheriff over Boy Found Wandering

UPDATE: The Hamilton County Sheriff released a statement on Friday afternoon to say the mother of the little boy found alone at JC Penney in Symmes Twp has come forward.

The mother and several members of her family (including multiple children) were shopping at the store on Fields Ertel Rd on Thursday night. They split into two vehicles when they left and apparently both groups thought the little boy was with the other.

The sheriff says Hamilton County Job and Family Services is investigating, but no criminal charges have been filed.
