Demolition on Stargel Stadium to Start in November

(Cincinnati, Oh.)--FC Cincinnati gave an updated timeline for construction Friday, of their privately financed multi-million dollar stadium in the West End, that will see FCC take to the pitch in their new home by March 2021.

Turner Construction the company tasked with the demolition of Taft High Schools Stargel Stadium and constitution of the new stadium will have crews begin work as early as mid November. Preparation work around the site will start on November 12, and continue though the first of the year with several smaller buildings set to be demolished first.

David Spaulding, Vice President, of Turner Construction said at today presentation that the target date for demolition of Stargel Stadium will be November 19, but that they will delay demolition if Taft High Schools football team makes the playoffs. The Senators will eventually play on their new home field that is set to be build on across Ezzard Charles Blvd.

The official ground breaking for the FCC Stadium will be on December 19, with completion set for March 1, 2021.
