Standoff In Covington Monday Night Ends Peacefully

(700 WLW)- Just before 7 o'clock Monday night, members of the Covington Police Department responded to 214 E. 13th Street for a report of shots fired. Once on scene, officers were able to ascertain that a single shot had been fired from inside the residence. 

Officers made contact with Dakota Peterson, of Covington, who stated a female was still inside the residence and she had a handgun in her possession. Officers made contact with the resident, Patricia Vesneski, who retreated into an interior room of the house. Vesneski communicated with officers on scene and stated she did in fact have a handgun in her possession. She surrendered to police at around 11PM and was taken to St. Elizabeth by ambulance without further incident. No charges are being filed at this time, as the investigation continues
