Kings Island Says Goodbye To The Firehawk Coaster

Kings Island

(Mason) - The Firehawk is leaving Kings Island.

The roller coaster's last ride will be on October 28 during the park's Halloween Haunt event.

Officials said they are getting rid of the ride because it has reached the end of its service life.

The Firehawk is whats known as a flying coaster, where riders are taken upside down and through loops.

It was originally known as X-Flight and opened at the Six Flag's Worlds of Adventure in 2001.  Cedar Fair moved the ride to Mason in 2004.

Kings Island hasn't said what will go in its place.
