CPS Principal Resigns after 'Inappropriate Communications'

( Westwood ) - Cincinnati Public Schools says a principal who was suspended has now resigned his position.

CPS says Gamble Montessori Principal Jack Jose has admitted to exchanging inappropriate electronic communications with a former student about two years ago. A statement from Superintendent Dr Laura Mitchell says the district was notified in early July and Jose was told to stay away from CPS property. He submitted his resignation on July 31.

The statement says that while the student did not attend Gamble Montessori at the time, he or she was still a juvenile. 241-KIDS and Cincinnati Police were among the notifications CPS made when it learned of the allegations.

There has been no word from law enforcement as to whether or not criminal charges will be filed.
