BIRD electronic scooters have arrived in Cincinnati.
A company that rents the scooters for use in downtown and Over the Rhine dropped off the motorized scooters last week and now city leaders are scrambling to adopt some regulations for their use. Acting City Manager Patrick Duhaney says the city was not notified that BIRD was coming to town and now is working with the law department to develop some rules and regulations for their operation.
Several members of Cincinnati City Council have expressed concern about the scooters being operated on city streets and Police Chief Elliot Isaac says it is a "safety issue." The Chief told council's Law and Public Safety Committee that he hopes to have some answers about what action the city can take very soon.
