( Middletown, Ohio ) - Ohio State troopers were called to a crash Monday morning involving a Rumpke garbage truck.
A statement from the department says 52-year-old David Evans of Cincinnati was operating the truck on Central Ave near Heinkel around 6:30am. He was at the rear of the truck, collecting trash when a pickup truck crashed into him and the back of the garbage truck. He was flown to the hospital where he died. The driver of the pickup suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the garbage truck was operating all safety lights at the time.
No word yet if any charges will be filed.
