( WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH ) -- A car chase that began in Newport, Friday night, July 6, ended with a big crash in Ohio. Kentucky Police chased a 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by David Smiddy, 35, from Newport, through Indiana on I-275, and into Ohio.
Around 8:40 PM, the pursuit eventually stopped at the 18 mile marker in Whitewater Township when Smiddy allegedly struck 3 police cruisers. No injuries were reported from the wreck. Smiddy was then taken into custody and now faces charges in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.
