Pet Lovers: My Furry Valentine Needs Your Help

Golden Retriever

(Sharonville) - My Furry Valentine doesn't just help out animals in need in February and is looking for volunteers at its first ever summer event.

The My Furry Valentine Mega Adoption Event takes place the third weekend in August.

“We have planned this first event because we know there is still a lot of need for rescues and shelters to have animals find their forever homes, all throughout the year, not just February when we’ve traditionally had our event,” said Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer Grimmett.

The area’s cat population, especially, seems to spike in the summer months.

Grimmett says 30 rescues and shelters have committed to bring adoptable animals to the event,  and now My Furry Valentine needs helping hands.

Volunteers are needed in different areas of the event, from people who can help sell tickets, to photographers to veterinarians who can check out the animals before they’re adopted.

The event takes place on August 18 and 19 at the Sharonville Convention Center. Those interested in volunteering can go to https://www.myfurryvalentine.com/.
