Dad of stabbing victim raising awareness for DV

Shelly Miller

(Fairfield) - It’s been almost a week since Raymond Miller’s daughter was stabbed and killed by her boyfriend in Fairfield and he’s already using his voice to help survivors of domestic violence.

Michelle Henry, 37, was so brutally stabbed last week that Miller says the funeral home isn’t sure they can do an open casket.

Henry was stabbed to death last Friday by her boyfriend Logan Williamson in the Fairfield condo where they live.  Police shot and killed Williamson while he was stabbing Henry, who went by Shelly, to death.

Now Miller says he’s hoping to find a way to help pay for her funeral.

“She did not have any life insurance and the family is asking for help to bring this to your listening audience,” Miller said in an email to 700WLW.  “We have a GoFundMe account and a Fifth Third Account.”

Miller said anyone can walk into a Fifth Third Bank location and ask to donate to Michelle Henry, Shelly Miller or Raymond Miller.

“We are trying to honor my daughter who was filled with love, compassion and a heart that wanted to help and fix other people,” he said.

Henry spent two years in an abusive relationship that he said she was unable to leave, Miller said. He says she was always trying to help others and was compassionate.

Her visitation is tomorrow and it’s open to the public. It will be held from 10 a.m. until noon at Ivey Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Donations to Miller’s family and children can be made here.

Anyone who is in a dangerous relationship can get help by contacting Women Helping Women or the Women’s Crisis Center.
