( Cincinnati ) - "Governments at any level exist to serve the structure of the family, not the other way around." The latest local voice to weigh in on President Trump's recently-ended policy that separated thousands of immigrant children from their parents is Cincinnati's Archbishop.
In an open letter posted on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's website, the Most Rev. Dennis M Schnurr says he echoes fellow bishops and Pope Francis "in condemning the practices of family separation that were taking place at an unprecedented rate on our nation's southern border."
Schnurr says the bond between parent and child is a gift from God and he's encouraging all the faithful to urge Congress to fix immigration issues through bipartisan reform.
