Passengers Jump Into Ohio River To Escape Boat Fire

(Villa Hills, KY) - An anchored boat on the Ohio River caught fire Sunday afternoon near the Anderson Ferry at the Villa Hills Marina on in the 700 block of River Road , according to disptachers.

Passengers on the boat jumped into the water to escape the fire and were rescued by Boone County Water Rescue with Cincinnati Fire Marine/Special Operations units assisting to put out the flames on the boat just before 3 p.m., said Cincinnati Fire & EMS.

The section of the river where the fire was located was shut down temporarily.

No injuries were reported.
