Cincinnati Soccer Fans Could be Very Disappointed

NBC Sports is warning soccer fans in Cincinnati not to get too excited. The day after the announcement that FIFA is bringing the World Cup to North America in 2026, Joe Prince-Wright writes that Cincinnati will miss the cut to be one of the sixteen host cities.

The article lays out two different scenarios for how the games will be distributed across the U.S., Canada and Mexico and neither scenario includes Cincinnati. The article lists the seven cities to miss out on World Cup action as Baltimore, Denver, Cincinnati, Nashville, Orlando, Edmonton and Guadalajara.

The committee working on the bid to play some of the games at Paul Brown Stadium say they have been told to expect a decision by June of 2020. To read the entire NBC Sports article, click here.
