(Cincinnati, OH) -- A number of medical marijuana dispensaries got the go ahead today. The Board of Pharmacy in Ohio approved licenses to seven locations in Greater Cincinnati.
They’ll be the first in the Buckeye State to sell the drug in oil, edible or vaporized forms to those with prescriptions for it. Recipients won’t be allowed to smoke the drugs.
Ohio officials announced where the 56 dispensaries across the state will be at a meeting in Columbus this morning.
All dispensaries must be at least 500 feet from schools and churches. There were 376 applications for dispensaries. Ohio’s medical pot program is supposed to be up and running by September.
So far, fewer than 100 doctors have been approved to prescribe cannabis to patients.
