Police Identify Victims In Fatal Head-On I-75 Crash

(CINCINNATI, OH) - One person is dead and another seriously injured in an early morning Sunday crash on I-75, according to Cincinnati Police.

Police report Daniel J. Wedig, 21, was operating his 2006 Honda Civic north bound in the south bound lane of I-75 around 1:15 a.m.

Another driver. Stephen K. Dehner, 57, was operating his 2011 Dodge truck south on I-75 when the two vehicles collided head-on into each other.

Southbound I-75 was shutdown temporarily while crews cleared the scene.

Wedig was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  Dehner sustained serious injuries and was transported to University hospital by the Cincinnati Fire Department. Both were wearing their seatbelts.

Excessive speed and impairment are unknown factors in this crash.
