MLS Plans 'Special Event' with FC Cincinnati

( Cincinnati ) - Newsradio 700WLW's Bill Cunningham tweeted last night (Wednesday) that it is a "done deal" and now confirmation that there will be a major announcement in Cincinnati next week from Major League Soccer and FC Cincinnnati regarding the future of soccer in the city.

FC Cincinnati has been working on winning a franchise for three years and a celebration is now planned for Rhinegeist Brewery in Over-the-Rhine at 5:30pm Tuesday May 29th. The team will pay $150 million for the franchise and then will spend another $200 million to build a brand new soccer stadium in the West End. 

A statement from FCC on Thursday afternoon promises a "special event" with the Major League Soccer Commissioner, Don Garber.
