Police: Pickup Truck was Speeding, Hit Parked Cars, Went Airborne, More

( Westwood ) - Cincinnati Police on Monday afternoon released the details of a Monday morning crash that killed one man.

Investigators say 26-year-old Zachary Hughes was speeding at the intersection of Boudinot and Werk around 8am. He allegedly went left of center, drove off the road, hit two parked vehicles which sent the pickup truck airborne. It struck a tree before landing partially on the balcony of a second floor apartment.

Both Zachary Hughes and his 47-year-old father, Kevin Hughes, were taken to the hospital. Kevin Hughes died from his injuries. His adult son is in fair condition.

A statement from police says speed is believed to be a factor and that neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time. No word yet if any charges will be filed.
