(Cincinnati, OH) - Beginning on April 28, Metro will hold nine community meetings scheduled throughout Hamilton County so the public can learn about the Reinventing Metro conceptual plan to better connect people to jobs, school, health care and other quality-of-life activities.
The meetings will present possible service improvements based on varying new Hamilton County sales tax levels.
Metro is currently funded by the City of Cincinnati earnings tax, which would no longer be used by Metro if a sales tax were passed.
Metro currently receives no Hamilton County tax funding.
The Reinventing Metro Conceptual Plan includes 24-hour service on major routes, shorter trip times, increased frequency, more crosstown routes, and enhanced technologies to make using public transportation easier.
The plan also includes proposals for Bus Rapid Transit service along four major corridors at the higher levels of funding.
