( Covington, Kentucky ) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet released a statement Friday morning announcing that all traffic on the Roebling Suspension Bridge is now blocked.
Travel over the bridge by vehicle was prohibited earlier this week after a crash. Foot traffic was still being permitted, though state leaders warned that pedestrians would also be barred on Reds Opening Day. However, a new statement on Friday says that after observing an increase of people walking on the bridge in the traffic lanes, pedestrian walkways are now blocked as well.
Engineers are still examining the span to get a better sense of the extent of the damage.
