Music Venue Coming to The Banks

( CINCINNATI, OH ) -- The city of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, and the Joint Banks Steering Committee have requested proposals for a live music venue at The Banks. Since then, they have received three proposals that they are going over. The idea at this time is that multiple live events will be hosted at the venue, from live music to speaking engagements.

One proposal from PromoWest is for an indoor-outdoor venue that would host about 180 events per year. A second proposal is a combination from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Memi that would a be strictly indoor venue that would host about 140 events per year. A third joint proposal from ARK Group and Live Nation is an indoor-outdoor venue that would host about 180 events per year.

One proposal recommends using the top of the existing public parking garage at The Banks, directly south of the GE building. The other two proposals recommend using areas west and south of that location, up against Elm Street across from Paul Brown Stadium.

Interviews with developers will happen mid-April and a decision will be made in mid-May. Construction times could vary, and could happen during the Reds' and Bengals' seasons. The Banks Project Executive Phil Beck says The Banks has a history of working with all stakeholders to make sure that events are accommodated with ongoing construction projects.
