( Newport, Kentucky ) - On Wednesday, March 14, students at Newport High School will remember the victims killed at Stoneman Douglas High School one month ago.
"I will give 100 percent credit to our student body that they're the ones that are encouraging this and leading this," said Newport High School Principal Kyle Niederman. He tells us that the school is working with the students as they'll have tshirts and signs available. "We aren't protesting. It's nothing to do with any type of a statement, what we're doing is remembering," Niederman said.
Students wearing white will gather along 6th Street in front of the high school entrance at 8am on Wednesday, March 14. Niederman says the Newport Police and Fire Departments will also be involved.
