Unattended Cooking Starts A Fire Late Tues Night

(700 WLW)- Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a telephone call late Tuesday night, reporting a fire in the 1700 block of Carll Street. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the "D" side of a 2 story brick occupied multi dwelling. Firefighters quickly extinguished and contained the fire to the kitchen. 

All occupants had exited the building prior to fire department arrival. The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist with 2 adults and 1 child that were displaced. The cause of the fire was unattended cooking. Smoke detectors were present but not working.

Damage is estimated at $5,000.
