(Mason, Oh.)--Construction on the brand new South Building at the 20-acre Lindner Family Tennis Center is ahead of schedule roughly 6 months before the start of The Western & Southern Open.
Will Sikes with the Western & Southern Open says the building boasts a first in professional tennis: indoor air-conditioned box seats situated on the baseline of the 11,467 seat Center Court.
Sikes say "we have about 350 days to turn a $25 million 40,000 square feet building around but it is on schedule actuality a little bit ahead of schedule and anybody driving up I-71 can take a look it will be about twice as tall as the previous structure there".
Also new, the All-inclusive Level combines a premium shaded outdoor seat with an air-conditioned indoor lounge and all-you-can-eat food and drink included with the ticket price. Last year’s event attracted 194,373 fans to the venue in Mason, Ohio, just 20 miles north of Cincinnati. More than 44 million people across the globe watched the event in over 170 countries.

The Western & Southern Open is the largest annual summer sporting event in the US Midwest, attracting visitors from all 50 states and more than 35 countries around the world.
Sikes says, last year was nearly a full sell out "we sold out 14 of 16 section last year".
The tournament features the highest-ranked and most notable players from both the men’s ATP World Tour and women’s WTA compete for the prestigious title each year.
The Western & Southern Open will be held August 11-19, 2018 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
